Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS)

•The Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS) is India’s proposed indigenous space station, planned by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Operational Period: Projected to be fully functional by 2028-2035.

Purpose: The BAS will serve as a research and operational platform for long-term space missions, focusing on various scientific experiments.

Crewed Station: It will host astronauts for extended durations, similar to the International Space Station (ISS).

Health Research: Studying the effects of space conditions, such as weightlessness, on human health (e.g., muscle loss, radiation exposure).

Algae Research: Exploring algae as a potential food source, food preservative, and even for jet fuel production.

Biology and Biotechnology: Conducting biological experiments, potentially related to regenerative medicine, biotherapeutics.
