- The government has so far shortlisted over 200 emerging and mature ventures in critical emerging technologies (also known as Deep Tech) for the upcoming Bharat Innovates 2026 event, which is meant to provide these ventures with a platform for potential partnerships and capital flows as part of the India-France year of innovation slate of events.
- These ventures, of which the highest are in the sectors of AI, quantum computing, and robotics, will be competing for about 120 final spots at a culmination event, which is scheduled in Nice, France, for June 2026, where top European and global corporates, investors, and research orgs will get to see the offerings from these Indian ventures.
- After AI, quantum computing, and robotics, the highest number of shortlisted start-ups are in sectors like EV value chain, green energy and blue economy, healthcare and medical technology, energy, sustainability, and climate change, and life sciences.
- Before the scheduled showcase in Nice, France, in June, a final event is expected to be held at the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, where the final 100-120 start-ups will be finalised.
