- As of early 2026, India holds massive coal reserves (5th largest globally), with crude oil reserves at 672 million tonnes and natural gas at over 1,100 billion cubic meters.
- While coal remains the primary energy source, renewable capacity has expanded rapidly, reaching over 250 GW by late 2025, largely driven by solar energy.
