An-32 cargo plane crash kills 5 IAF men in Assam

Five Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel were killed after an An-32 cargo aircraft met with an accident while landing at the Jorhat airbase in eastern Assam on 13 June 2026.
The PTI reported that the aircraft was set to fly to Chabua from Jorhat, but requested a landing shortly after taking off.
The aircraft lost control upon touchdown and skidded off the runway, hurtling across a parallel taxiway and snapping into two segments before being engulfed in flames, the PTI added.
“A court of inquiry is being constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident,” the IAF statement read.
