Elon Musk’s Allegations:

• Elon Musk accused regulators and Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani of blocking Starlink’s entry into India to maintain a monopoly, mockingly calling Ambani the “real boss of India”.

DoT & Government Stand:

• The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia denied any bias, stating India prohibits monopolies and that security evaluations apply uniformly to all three license holders—Starlink, Jio Satcom, and Bharti Airtel backed – Eutelsat OneWeb.

Oppisition cries “crony capitalism”

• Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge seized on Musk’s comments to target the government over “crony capitalism,” where business success depends on close, corrupt ties between political leaders and wealthy individuals rather than open competition and free-market merit.
